Roles & Permissions

Control what team members can do with role-based permissions.

Available roles

Changing roles

Only Owners and Admins can change roles:
  1. Go to Settings → Team → Members
  2. Click the menu next to a member
  3. Select Change role
  4. Choose the new role
You cannot change your own role. Another Owner or Admin must do it.

Transferring ownership

To transfer account ownership:
  1. Go to Settings → Team → General
  2. Click Transfer ownership
  3. Select the new owner (must be an existing team member)
  4. Confirm the transfer
Ownership transfer is permanent. You’ll become an Admin after transferring.

Best practices

Limit Owners

Only give Owner access to people who need billing access

Use Admin for managers

Team leads who need full content control but not billing

Member for contributors

Writers who create content but don’t manage settings

Review regularly

Remove access for people who leave the team
